| Project Description |
We completed 3000 line-kilometers of dual streamer 3-D seismic, magnetics and bathymetry for COAL OPERATIONS, an Australian power utility company, to map their coal reserves beneath Lake Tuggerah in water depths ranging from 1 to 3 meters. The objective was to map the structure of the coal seam to locate all disruptions of the coal seam that would adversely affect longwall mining. The project was a success, resulting in unprecedented 3-D detail, the discovery of a buried diatreme volcano vent in an important coal reserve area, several igneous intrusions into the coal seam as well as numerous faults and channels, and a major split in the coal seam. |
