2000: Bay of Chimbote, Peru
|
|
| Location |
Bay of Chimbote, Peru |
| Type of Project |
2D Seismic (swath seismic) , magnetics, side scan sonar and bathymetry |
| Project Goal |
Identify igneous intrusions |
| Equipment |
Engineering seismograph |
| Project Description |
We ran approximately 50 line-kilometers of dual streamer 2-D swath seismic, magnetics, side scan sonar and bathymetry in the Bay of Chimbote and 5 kilometers out into the Pacific Ocean for an outfall project. The seismic was very good quality, and the magnetics important in identifying a large igneous intrusion that would have to be explosively trenched. |
