Project Goal Map coal reserves
Equipment Dual Streamer SEAMUX digital system
Project Description We completed more than 1200 line-kilometers of dual streamer 3-D seismic, magnetics and bathymetry for POWERCOAL, an Australian power utility company, to map their coal reserves beneath Lake Macquarie in water depths ranging from 1 to 4 meters. The purpose was to map the structure of the coal seam to locate all disruptions of the coal seam that would adversely affect longwall mining. The project was a success following a demonstration survey we ran in July.
